Jiu Jitsu Summer Camp fun!

• Time and Dates: TBD (please see current survey)
• Ages: 5 – 14
• Kids learn the Martial Art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (gi and nogi) and. . .
• Self Defence and becoming street smart (“Stranger Danger”tm techniques and tactics)
• How to handle yourself in difficult situations (“Critical Conversations”tm)
• How to avoid physical conflict and resolve it with carefully chosen words
• Jiu Jitsu in the park, walking in the park, nature watching, meditation, and playground activities
• Indoor activities: Tug of war, mafia, shark tank, arts and crafts
• Personal time (options): read a book, arts and crafts, guided video game design (those with laptops)
• Snack time
• Last day pizza party ($5 for pizza and drink)
• End-of-program parent demo: See what your kids have learned and created!
•  With your registration, your child is automatically registered for our summer annual in-house tournament in (non-Oracle members are by invitation only and pay a fee of $75 normally).

The program includes:

• Jiu Jitsu class: self-defence techniques (gi and nogi), drills, shark tank competitions
• Physical activities, like jiu jitsu, walking through the park, playground, shark tank, tug of war, zombie jitsu
• Children learn social skills through interaction, play, co-petition (a combination of cooperation and competition), and verbalizing their thoughts.
• Kids learn how to deal with strangers (tactics and strategies) and how to talk their way out of difficult situations.
• “Snack time/Quiet time“. Hard work is rewarded with rest and recovery (please pack a lunch and snacks** with your child). Quiet time, kids can quietly work on things they bring in their backpack from home.**
• Please ensure your child has sunscreen on (as required), plenty of water, a hat, and any allergy alerts affixed to their body for identification (each item should have their name on it in Sharpie)
• Free Oracle Jiu Jitsu T-Shirt included. Children will wear a bright Oracle Jiu Jitsu identifiable t-shirt, and name tag stickers, for clear visual identification
• We will attempt to keep the group size to a maximum of 10:1 kids/staff. We will attempt to cap our max no. of kids to 20 (+/-)
• Assistant coaches are V3DA hub coach-certified
• OJA/JJIF Respect for Sport Coaching certified instructors
•  Head Coach

Kids will further be reinforced with how to . . .

• Become confident in yourself
• Become disciplined
• Defend themselves (even from bigger, more intimidating/louder bullies)
• Become fit . . . and most importantly, have FUN!
• Jiu Jitsu Gi is required for participation (purchase one here)
• Location: Oracle Jiu Jitsu, Mississauga, with plenty of parking out back.
